The National Choreographic Center is supporting Ramon Lima, a regional artist, by providing him with studio space and collaborating with him on a co-production to develop his project, CALOR.
This piece brings together three performers on stage, each with a starting body temperature of 37°C, who embark on a physical exploration through the varying intensities of heat generated by their bodies and their interaction. A rise in temperature on the edge of dream and ecstasy, where heat becomes a transformative force capable of deforming matter, redefining the contours and densities of the body, but also opening a portal to unusual physical states. A radical expansion of intimate space, which engenders the possibility of a new shared space, blurs boundaries, and broadens possibilities. Driven by the alchemy of intense rhythm, this project draws as much from ancestral gatherings around the fire and the collective trances of choreomania as it does from popular festivities such as carnival—all forms of cathartic rituals.
Ramon Lima is a dancer and choreographer whose artistic practice places the experience of the body at the heart of the aesthetic and conceptual framework of his projects. This approach permeates both the creative process and his relationship with the audience. He thus conceives of dance as a means of broadening our understanding of the body, viewing it as a space of possibilities.
Ramon Lima is also supported by Le Pacifique - CDCN Grenoble. Two events to discover his choreographic world as part of Escapades dansées, presented by La Rampe-La Ponatière in Échirolles, L’Odyssée L’autre rive – Eybens, the TMG – Grenoble, the Amphi in Pont de Claix, Le Pacifique – CDCN Grenoble, and Saint-Martin-d’Hères en scène:
