What sets us in motion?‍
“This is a question we undoubtedly share with those who express themselves through dance. For some time now, I have been interested in collective forms that set us in motion, and from this perspective, I have been exploring choreographic forms such as parades, processions, and marches… In this workshop, I would like to share some of the tools I use in my work. My work often revolves around concepts such as perseverance and repetition. Repetition, as a space to transform gesture, to transform movement, to enter a bodily state, to enter a collective dance. We will experiment with collective forms through warm-ups and improvisations, but we will also explore excerpts from my repertoire. I will also emphasize the question of the body’s internal music. How the rhythm of our thoughts and sensations becomes music, becomes gesture, and brings our dance to life.” Aina Alegre
