FROM BODY TO MOVEMENT,
TO THE RHYTHM OF THE LAND

The National Choreographic Center of Grenoble and Le Pacifique CDCN are joining forces to promote dance in areas beyond the Grenoble metropolitan area.

Each organization engages with different venues and spaces—in the Vals and Balcons du Dauphiné for the CCN de Grenoble, and in Trièves and Matheysine for Le Pacifique—through a collaborative approach involving local stakeholders, regional authorities, community cultural organizations, and educational institutions…

These artistic itineraries promote the circulation of works across these regions while adhering to a more sustainable series-based approach for national and international companies. While the presentation of choreographic works is central to the initiative, forging a long-term connection between dance and the residents of these regions is at the heart of this project!

2026 EDITION

For this^secondedition of Terrains de danse, bodies become vessels for stories, memories, and landscapes. The artists explore what connects us: legacies, reinvented traditions, personal stories, and collective impulses. Blending contemporary creation with shared practices, each presentation invites us to circulate both physical movements and the imagination. Performances, workshops, and gatherings thus trace a sensory journey where dance is experienced in close proximity to local residents, in tune with the rhythm of the region.

As part of TERRAINS DE DANSE, the National Choreographic Center once again invites Marie Pons—author, critic, and dance researcher—to meet with residents of Les Vals and Les Balcons du Dauphiné, gather their stories, and weave them into narratives. The sequences conceived for TERRAINS DE DANSE are shaped by her presence and her sensitive interpretation of the region, centered around the writing of a journal that chronicles the diverse experiences of the residents she encounters.
