FROM BODY TO MOVEMENT,
TO THE RHYTHM OF THE LAND

The Centre chorégraphique national de Grenoble and Le Pacifique CDCN have joined forces to bring dance to areas far from the Grenoble metropolis.

Each structure invests in different places and spaces, in the Vals and Balcons du Dauphiné for the CCN de Grenoble, and in the Trièves and Matheysine for Le Pacifique, in a process of co-construction and cooperation with local players, territorial authorities, local cultural operators, educational establishments...

These artistic itineraries encourage the circulation of works in these territories, respecting a more sustainable series logic for national and international companies. While disseminating choreographic works is at the heart of the project, weaving a long-term link between dance and local residents is also at the heart of it!

The Centre chorégraphique national de Grenoble has chosen to deploy a first phase in the Vals du Dauphiné, programming the piece REFACE by the regional company Les Idoles in the towns of Pont-de-Beauvoisin and La Tour-du-Pin.

In choosing this performance, the Centre chorégraphique national wishes to highlight a creation that affirms the transformative power of the body. It will also provide an opportunity for new exchanges between audiences and artists.

Choreographers and dancers Chandra Grangean and Lise Messina will be running workshops at the Lycée Pravaz in Pont-de-Beauvoisin to explore notions of self-representation and transformation, major issues in the age of social networking and image. In collaboration with the various partners, meetings will take place to accompany the performances, taking the time to discuss the show, putting into words what everyone has felt, analyzed, perceived.

TERRAINS DE DANSE is thus designed to survey, meet a territory and its population. The Centre chorégraphique national asked Marie Pons, author, critic and dance researcher, to go out and meet the inhabitants of the Vals and Balcons du Dauphiné, gather their testimonies and weave their stories, giving rise to the Journal de bord des Terres Froides.
