Catalan dancer and choreographer Pol Jiménez draws inspiration from the figure of the faun—a being that is half-man, half-animal—to offer a contemporary interpretation of traditional Spanish dance forms. Combining speed and precision of movement, he blends folklore, bolero, stylized dance, and flamenco into a unique choreographic language. A solo in which tradition and modernity merge to explore forms and identities in motion.

Pol Jiménez studied Spanish dance at the Conservatori Professional de Dansa in Barcelona, then at the Centro Andaluz de Danza in Seville. He has collaborated with companies and choreographers such as La Fura dels Baus, Cesc Gelabert, Ángel Rojas, Juan Carlos Lérida, and José Manuel Álvarez. Since 2013, he has been developing his own choreographic language and creating works such as Subconscient, Nu Sentiments, Katakana, La Oscilante, and Lo Faunal. Drawing on improvisation and a constant re-examination of his classical training, Pol Jiménez places the body in “uncharted territory,” exploring new codes to interrogate the contemporary dance scene.
