Aina Alegre a free interpretation of the dance and energy of the bailaora Carmen Amaya. This artist led a varied life, from the Gypsy quarter of Barcelona to Hollywood, from the World’s Fair to the White House, from the tradition of flamenco to Ravel’s Boléro. This spirit permeates the bodies, sound, and light ofAina Alegre new piece. Drawing on this legacy they revisit, the dancers enter the dance floor, propel themselves into the electrified space, and channel the energy of this figure through their own dazzling dance!
