CONSCIOUS RELEASE INTO INSTANT COMPOSITION
NOVEMBER 25 TO 29, 2024 10 A.M. TO 5:30 P.M.
CCN STUDIO
ONLINE REGISTRATION

A 5-day immersion in the Conscious Release™ method, the result of years of experimentation and research into body mechanics, philosophy, movement theory and the metaphysical approach to the body. This technique optimizes body perception by refining awareness of the dancer's current bodily state and available physical capacities. The body becomes a limitless tool for the dancer's imagination. Contemplation of inner space and release of tension enable the dancer to break through habitual movement patterns. Full creativity can then be experienced, and form appears only in the service of a single expression: the present moment. These physical explorations lead to a state of full presence with oneself, with others and with space, with which we enter into the composition of instantaneous pieces.

CHOREOGRAPHIC PRACTICES, DANCE AND SPACE
JANUARY 6 TO 10, 2025 10:30 AM TO 5 PM
CCN STUDIO
ONLINE REGISTRATION

Maya M Caroll transmits her knowledge of the body, composition and the multiple layers of space. These notions are practiced through movement, perception and imagination. In dance, they are both intuitive and attentive subjects of study, providing an essential understanding of our compositional cartography and choreographic landscapes. Thanks to the fluidity and precision of the body, the workshop guides and unfolds kinaesthetic experiences. A tangible world where actions are performed and supported by a deepened awareness of proximity and distance, inner and outer space, geometry, form and dimension. We also observe how space is perceived and distinguished in our compositions, practically, atmospherically, theatrically and poetically. Practice and group work involve instant composition as a method of learning, appreciating, refining work and awareness within the pieces we create together.

THEATER WORKS: WORKING WITH OBJECTS
JUNE 23 TO 27, 2025 10:30 A.M. TO 5 P.M.

ONLINE REGISTRATION

A number of recurring elements characterize Julyen Hamilton's work. All have been the subject of extensive research, practice and experimentation. They include light, sound, space, text and speech... as well as the use of objects. Julyen's scenographic work and the use of objects in space are essential to all her works for the stage. Objects placed, carried, manipulated, addressed to, rubbing shoulders with dance, destroyed and created... All give a glimpse of a singular poetry, dialoguing in the context of the dancer's "naked" body. This week is an opportunity to explore this subject, working with the body in depth and in the context of the objects on stage. We'll consider and practice how to enter into poetic relationships with objects: discovering how they can participate and thus reveal other strata and depths in the imaginary of performance.
