On Friday, October 17 at 7 p.m., an event open to the public is being organized by Pauline L. Boulba and the CCN in Grenoble as part of the 40th anniversary of the association SOS Inceste pour Revivre.
Joined by artist and choreographer Pauline L. Boulba, guests will take part in discussions, readings, and performances during a live radio broadcast hosted by Radio Campus. They will be joined by author and therapist Juliet Drouar and participants from prior workshops.
These workshops were designed by Pauline L. Boulba and the CCN as a continuation of her 2024 residency for the Mille Shake project, also hosted and supported by Le Pacifique – CDCN.
During this evening, the bookstore Les Modernes will set up a pop-up stand in the studio and offer a selection of books that complement the program.
An artist deeply engaged with the issue of incest due to her own personal experience, Pauline L. Boulba is currently writing a performance piece exploring domestic violence, somatic practices, and queer and feminist archives.
Her work focuses on feminist/transpedigouine practices, archives, and the intimate. She defended a research-creation thesis in the Dance Department at Paris 8 in 2019, which was published by PUV in February 2023 under the title CritiQueer la danse. Performed receptions and affective critiques. Her pieces (La langue brisée, Ôno-Sensation, As Buffard As Possible)havebeen presented at various venues, including the Centre National de la Danse, the Centre Pompidou, the Salmon Festival in Barcelona, and the Belluard Bollwerk Festival in Fribourg.
Between 2020 and 2024, the JJ project dedicated to Jill Johnston (1929–2010) unfolds through a performance piece, a film, and a book in collaboration with Aminata Labor. Since 2024, she has been working on a stage and editorial project titled Mille Shake, which explores ways to seek justice through the experience of incest. Her artistic practice is primarily funded by public institutions and falls under the intermittent worker regime.
