Aina Alegre has drawn from her Catalan origins the collective energy of popular Mediterranean festivals to create a monumental piece combining dance and polyrhythms, performed by 100 amateur dancers.
Inspired by these major events, festivals, parades and processions, she imagines a veritable dialogue between the crowd, like a living architecture, and that of Grenoble's Palais des Sports.
Through a celebratory ritual, Aina Alegre attempts to give a new festive and carnal memory to this heritage site where concrete predominates.
The number of dancers, the crowd, the power of gesture and sound, the link between space and choreographic composition all contribute to the extraordinary dimension of PARADES & DÉSOBÉISSANCES.
